Well let me tell you, your choice to invest in family photography does matter and it is important-now more than ever! Your family portraits bring your family together, everyone in one frame on your wall. It reminds your family of its love for one another. Family photos also bring joy and make you smile. And, in these often difficult times post pandemic, your family portraits can bring comfort and heal.

Today I’m sharing with you my top 6 reasons why you need a family photo session right NOW!

Life Goes By Fast

Family of 4 photo session at Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona.

Life happens and kids grow up. We all know this to be true. You never know when the last chance for a family photo will come. Don't take for granted the time you have with each other. Sometimes you don't even realize the benefits of family photos until later in life. One of the best ways to relive all those precious life moments is through portraits.

Document Growth

Kids seems to be growing up faster than ever. Family portraits are a great way to document their growth progress, watching them change from year to year. Also, looking back on past trends and styles will be sure to provide a laugh in the years to come. And I think we can all agree that there is so much more uniqueness to a family photo session every year as opposed to those cookie cutter school photos you get. Side note: stay tuned for more information about the launch of my upcoming fine art portrait mini school sessions!

Celebrate Milesones

When you plan a family photo session around a milestone you not only get together to celebrate that occasion, but you get to capture the moments and have them documented. Graduations, baptisms, birthdays, anniversaries and even prom…these are all perfect times to combine a family portrait with your loved one's milestone.

Everyone Will Be In Town

Does your family have an annual tradition…think Thanksgiving family football game or Fourth of July family barbeque. Maybe the birth of a baby brings everyone together and sometimes we only get to see one another with the passing of someone we love. My family experienced this last month and while there was grief enough for all it was also a truly beautiful time catching up with family members we never get to see. Reunions, no matter the occasions, can be the perfect opportunity to get those family portraits taken. For some families, this only happens once in a while. Don't miss your chance to document your family!

Create Some Memories

Don't let life pass and look back wondering why you didn't take the time for family photos.  As a parent, you won't remember every moment or the way your baby’s toes were so small or how comical that 2 year old was. But when you take photos you get to see and relive that time in your life. The pictures of this family below were particularly memorable for me. I was the first person that these precious children interacted with post pandemic. We spent more than an hour exploring nature, bringing to light the small things of this earth and telling grandiose stories from imaginations sharpened by hours of play. Also…the moon in these pics is not actually a moon, it’s the butt of a unicorn jumping through a hole in the sky! See what I mean…memories!!

Family Legacy

Extended family photo session at a park in Phoenix, Arizona.

These family photos are not just for you, you’re building your family legacy here! Don't put it off because your hair's not done or you wanted to lose a few extra pounds.  In the end your children won’t notice that your hair was frizzy or that they had awkward braces, but they will definitely be disappointed if they don't have any photographs of themselves to share with their kids. And it’s this reason alone that drives my business. I fully believe that every family needs some beautiful family photos through the years SO THAT you can preserve the legacy you’re building here in this life.

Before any more time goes by and you miss capturing this year's precious moments get those family photos done NOW! Life can change in an instant and there’s no time like the present to preserve what’s here today.
